Session Overview
Speakers:
- Idunn Bøyum, Oslo Metropolitan University
- Mahmood Khosrowjerdi, University of Inland Norway
Based on their recent study published in Information Research (CoLIS 2025 Special Issue), this seminar explores how academic librarians in Norway perceive the role of AI in their work. While AI is recognised as a tool to streamline tasks and support teaching, librarians also express scepticism about transparency, trust, and the lack of clear guidelines.
Key questions:
- How is AI changing academic library work?
- What ethical concerns and professional challenges emerge?
- How can librarians balance innovation with responsibility?
